About Ongru
온그루는 완전한, 온전한, 모두를 의미하는 "온"과 나무를 세는 단위 즉, 나무 밑동을 의미하는 "그루"가 결합이 되어 만들어진 합성어입니다.
장애 예술인들의 창작이 온전한 한그루의 커다란 나무로 자라나길 바라는 바람과 염원을 담았으며, 장애 예술인들과 지역(민) 사회가 함께 어우러진 완전한 연대와 협력의 가치를 창출해
모두가 함께하는복합생활문화공간으로서의 미래지향적인 영속성을 의미합니다.
Ongru is a compound word created by combining “on,” which means complete, whole, and all, and “gru,” which means the unit for counting trees, that is, the base of a tree.
It means future-oriented permanence as a complex living and cultural space for everyone by creating the value of complete solidarity
and cooperation between disabled artists and the local community.

History of Ongru
「장애 예술인 창작공간 온그루」는 2020년에 부산문화재단에서 개관 · 운영 중인 부산 최초의 장애 예술인 전용 창작공간입니다. 부산에서 활동하는 장애 예술가에게 개별 창작공간을 지원하고, 오픈 스튜디오, 발표회 등의 창작 역량 제고 프로그램을 지원합니다. 예술적 소통을 통해 장애 예술인에 대한 인식을 전환하고, 장애인 · 비장애인과의 경계를 허물기 위해 노력하고 있습니다.
2021년에는 장애 예술인의 입주와 창작 활동 지원, 네트워크 활동, 시민 참여 프로그램 등으로 약 1,500여명이 온그루를 이용했습니다. 입주예술가로는 “이지투게더”, “우리아트”, “시민도예가회” 3개 단체, 18명이 입주하여 창작활동을 이어나갔습니다. 또한 온그루 네트워크 프로그램 「함께 이어지다」, 역량강화 프로그램 「그루-업」, 「2021 장애예술 주간 176-426」을 통해 장애인예술의 가치를 전파하는 다양한 활동을 진행했습니다.
2022년에는 입주예술가의 창작물 발표를 중심으로 온그루에서 장애예술 릴레이 전시를 개최하여 시민들이 언제든지 온그루에서 장애예술인의 작품을 감상할 수 있는 콘텐츠 운영과 예술치유 플랫폼 「마음이 담겨있는 공간」 운영을 통해 시민과 소통할 수 있는 복합문화예술공간으로 운영됩니다. 이번 입주예술가는 총 20명으로, 시각파트에는 “이지투게더”, “우리아트” 2개 단체와 “황원지(황하윤)” 개인 작가, 공연파트에는 “문화예술연구소다원인부산(터닝포인트)” 1개 단체가 입주하였습니다. 또한 입주예술가 역량강화 프로그램 「그루-업(GRU-UP)」, 「2022 장애예술 페스티벌 <온:그루>」, 부산·광주 교류전 등 다양한 활동을 진행했습니다.
“Onguru,” is Busan’s first creative space exclusively for disabled artists, opened and operated by the Busan Cultural Foundation in 2020.
We provide individual creative spaces to disabled artists working in Busan and support programs to enhance creative capabilities such as open studios and presentations. We are working to change perceptions of disabled artists through artistic communication and to break down the boundaries between disabled and non-disabled people.
In 2021, approximately 1,500 people used Onguru through the housing of disabled artists, support for creative activities, networking activities, and citizen participation programs. As resident artists, 18 people from three organizations, “Easy Together,” “Woori Art,” and “Citizen Ceramic Artists Association,” moved in and continued their creative activities. In addition, various activities were carried out to spread the value of art for the disabled through the Onguru network program 「Continued Together」, the capacity building program 「Grew-Up」, and 「2021 Disability Arts Week 176-426」.
In 2022, a relay exhibition of disabled arts will be held at Onguru, focusing on the presentation of creative works by resident artists, and content will be operated so that citizens can enjoy the works of disabled artists at any time at Onguru, and the art healing platform 「Space with Heart」 will be operated. It is operated as a complex cultural and artistic space where citizens can communicate through. There are a total of 20 artists in residence this time. The visual part includes two organizations, “Easy Together” and “Woori Art,” and the individual artist “Hwang Won-ji (Hwang Ha-yoon),” and the performance part includes “Culture and Arts Research Institute Multi-Academic Busan (Turning Point)” has moved in.
In addition, various activities were carried out, such as the resident artist capacity building program 「GRU-UP」, the 「2022 Disabled Arts Festival <On:Gru>」 and the Busan-Gwangju exchange exhibition.
